Two words: fleece sheets! The hubby finally got me a set for Christmas and they are soooooooo warm. You know how I never get warm. We could take two blankets off of the bed. It's like sleeping in a cloud. A warm fluffy cloud. I wear a hat from the first day it hits about 35 and it doesn't come off until it warms up. In fact the hubby also got me a hat wardrobe this year so I have a little ski hat that goes with every color I might want to wear. It’s freezing here too. As usual, after the big storm the sky clears, the sun comes out, and it gets stupid cold because that sweet, sweet cloud cover is gone.

But I’m optimistic. 2 months until march, and when you consider the amount of time we spend inside working, sleeping, and eating, there’s really just like 2 days of winter left. So yeah, it’ll be over soon

Lola: I use a down comforter too and usually no top sheet but I don’t wash the comforter very often and that thought kinda made me think twice. I have been using a top sheet since it got really cold. Usually I use flannel sheets but I can’t find the ones that fit on my bed. The stinky dog generates a lot of heat.

Buggys: I only have two plugs near my bed and they are being used by the alarm clock and the lamp. I really don’t like electric blankets. The sleeping part isn’t where I am having trouble it is the walking around during the day in the cold.

Stephanie: You are right, there is just no getting warm when it is this cold. I suppose I could go outside every now and then just to realize how warm it really is inside but that seems irrational on some level. I’ll wait it out. Only a few more months.

Electric blanket is the way to go! You can turn it off when you get into bed but the warmth remains with you. I hate being cold! I hate being hot too, I love climate control. I use a down comforter and I swear by it. No top sheet, just the down comforter. I also wear sweatpants as jammies and if I’m really cold I’ll put a zip front fleece jacket over my tshirt. Also, Anastasia and I have our own comforters and we basically roll ourselves up like burritos, that way no one is stealing covers while the other freezes to death. Yes, it’s so romantic, but at least we’re not doing the tug of war all night.

IJW: I have a fear of electric blankets. I also get way too hot in them.

Kristina: We have a Snuggie but it is so covered in hair I can’t bring myself to put it on. I’m also in need of one for a child since I trip all over with it on.

Surfie: I could move to Hawaii, I can’t spell it but I could live there. I like Minnesota for at least three months out of the year but I am beginning to hate the winters.

Anne: I was wondering that myself, why do they only seem to run out in the middle of the night. I had no intention of changing the battery in the middle of the night because they make a lot of noise when a battery is removed and put in. I didn’t want to wake anyone.

Garden Gnome: I wear sweats to sleep along with socks. I take off the socks in the middle of the night. With the cat, dog and daughter in the bed with me it isn’t that cold, in fact it gets pretty uncomfortable with all that heat, plus the dog smells.

MrsBlogalot: I have a heating pad, will that work?
