Open Letter to the Dumbass who Hacked My Website

thanks for hacking my website dumbass, how not to get hacked, why to hackers hack, internet security, website secuirity, Bluehost has the best customer serviceThanks mutherfucker!

That was sarcasm in case your immature brain doesn’t recognize it.

Thanks for hacking my website. It took me a few days and many desperate emails and phone calls to figure out what you did and then undo it. Thanks for stealing so much of my time that I don’t have to spare.

What happened

This dumbass got into my site using the Pilcrow theme for WordPress. I am not sure if the theme itself is hacked, was designed to open a back door or what the hell was going on but there is a mess of code in the index code which allowed someone to break into my site cause scary errors to many people who visited my site. If you are using the Pilcrow theme and get the warning HTML:IFrame-PF[Trj] you should save yourself lots of time and just find a new theme. After you delete the added code in the index. I had to call Bluehost to do this and they were fantastic, as usual. Thank you Bluehost and Carl for such wonderful customer service, you are awesome!

I don’t speak teenage-boy-who-can’t-get-laid-geek and I certainly can’t imagine how you think but I would really love to know why you did this to me. Did you even know you did this to me? What do you get out of this?

What the fuck is wrong with people?

What should have happened instead

Clearly you have some mad coding skills, what I can’t understand is why you don’t use those skills for good rather than evil. And make no mistake, it was evil that you did.

Can’t you do something more productive with your time? Damn, if I had your coding skills I would be changing the world for the better not making it worse for people like me who already have too much to do, not enough time and not enough brain power.

You could take your mad coding skills and discover the cure for cancer, or at least write a program that could do that. You could create jobs and get people back to work. You can do so much with the power you wield and yet you choose to make other’s lives more difficult.

Shame on you.

My makeover will continue but I need to find a new theme and I am busy planning a graduation party, getting ready for back to school (thirteen days and counting!) and all the other stuff that goes with my job and just running the house. Oh, and I got another bunny, so that takes time too. See, I haven’t had the time to post about any of this and some hacker thinks I have time to fix his little joke.

Shame on you again.

I’m Getting a Makeover, and You Get To Watch Live!

So it was high time I had a makeover on this blog and since we are doing them on Tribal Blogs it made perfect sense to do one here. And you get to watch live as I change my mind fifteen billion times and drive the design team batty in the process.

The first Extreme Blog Makeover happened on June’s blog The Neurosis Files (you can see June’s Extreme Blog Makeover here), next we did Lauren’s blog – Think Spin (though she hasn’t had the official unveiling yet so I will leave that to her to announce), so it made sense that if we were going to be professional blog makeover gurus we should at least have awesome blogs ourselves.

I’m not using the Royal We, there really is a we, us, ourselves, etc… Kelly is the design specialist, design maven or design ninja, not sure which should go on her business card but she is the one who makes the creative things pop. She is the one who I am driving crazy about all the little changes. Kelly is, of course, a pro so she never lets on that I can be a little persnickety. She just makes it look better, which is why I love Kelly so much.

Stay tuned for more makeover madness!

I Almost Slept With Anthony Weiner While Reading Sticky Readers

I almost slept with Anthony Weiner while I was listening to Casey Anthony confess that she killed Caylee.

See what I did there? I hooked you in. Now you want to know all the details of how I almost slept with Anthony Weiner and you are just dying to know how I got the scoop on Casey Anthony’s confession that she murdered her daughter.

I learned how to do that by reading Margeret Andrews new book Sticky Readers: How to Attract a Loyal Blog Audience by Writing More Better.

Of course I didn’t actually almost sleep with Anthony Weiner, he’s a Liberal and I am not,  and we all know Casey Anthony didn’t kill Caylee.

Margaret says you have to grab your readers with a hook (chapter 1). She says you don’t want to bore your readers with posts about going to the grocery store or cleaning the toilets, which sadly is half my blog posts.

In addition to utilizing the tips in chapter 1 I also learned from Chapter 3: Get Personal; Chapter 5: Include a Universal Topic or Theme; and Chapter 6: Choose a Debatable or Controversial Topic. I did all those things in my first sentence because I read Margaret’s book.

Sure I skipped over Chapter 2 Details, Details, Details (Be Specific), but you don’t really want anymore details about Anthony Weiner’s weiner, so you’re welcome.

Already I’m writing more better.

Seriously, Margaret’s new book Sticky Readers: How to Attract a Loyal Blog Audience by Writing More Better, is a must read for bloggers and writers everywhere. Even if you are already a Pulitzer prize winner you need Margaret’s book. In fact if you are a Pulitzer Prize winner you probably need it more than anyone because Margaret has included a chapter about writing funny and we all know anyone who writes a Pulitzer Prize winning book is not funny.

This isn’t one of those books that tells you how to become the next internet guru, Margaret doesn’t tell you how you can make gobs of cash with Google Adwords, she doesn’t make promises she can’t keep. She does tell you what is wrong with your blog and how you can fix it. And she does it all while entertaining the reader. I get a lot of books to review (I paid for this book myself so this is not a paid review) and most of the time they are boring. So boring I can’t get through them. Not Sticky Readers: How to Attract a Loyal Blog Audience by Writing More Better, I couldn’t put my iPad down last night. It is that good.

If you want to write more better get Margaret’s book, right now, and read it. You can get it at Amazon and download it to any device using Kindle.
