Tribal Blogs Update

Since launching Tribal Blogs two weeks ago we now have 79 members!

Woohoo!

Even better we have lowered the price from $12 to $6 per month for the premium membership. This means for $6 you get your blog loaded into the toolbar, your feed listed on the new feed page and access to private groups. The free membership is also available which gets access to most groups and forums as well as the free toolbar to surf a bunch of great sites easily.

One of the really popular, and free, groups is the Promote Me Please group. Members are going balls to the walls to promote other members using Stumble, Twitter, Digg, and any other promotional method. It’s been a lot of fun to watch everyone help each other out.

What has been even more interesting is that members are creating their own groups. Glenn, from Man Over Board created a mens only group, appropriately titled Men Only. I haven’t a clue what goes on in there, since I am not eligible for membership, but it sounds like they are having a lot of fun.  There is a lot of belching and farting going on but if that makes them happy…. Surprisingly there are just as men male bloggers who are members as there are female bloggers. This really surprised me since blogging seems to be such a female dominated activity. Who knew?

Another great group is the Leave a Penny, Take a Penny group. If you have an idea for a great post but it isn’t something your blog usually does you can leave the idea there for other members to use. If you are in need of ideas for posts you can look here to see what someone else has left.

I’m so pleased to see everyone contributing and helping their fellow bloggers especially since I have been so busy these past couple weeks. If you haven’t checked out Tribal Blogs yet, now is a great time to do so.

    Jen, I LOVE the toolbar. Anyone who is on the fence… it is worth a try. You can have one site come up to save a bit of time, or ten. Then you simply click entrecard if you wish, you get to read great posts and move quickly from one site to another. Also, YOUR site is included in the list, so others are doing the same for your blog.

    Have to say I love the new site you built Jen. Kudos to you and hope nothing but the very best and much success. I love stopping in and yes we do have a Men’s Only clubhouse, lol. But sorry that is a misnomer, there is NO farting allowed. If you haven’t been by and signed up, then get your bloggers butts over there.

    Don’t be surprised that there just as many guys as women, the fact is, there are more male bloggers then female bloggers in the world. But mostly we see more women posting comments especially between all being a member at some time or another to either EC, CMF or Adgit. Many men stop by and read, but rarely do we post a comment. I think I am just an abnormal guy. (Don’t you dare say a thing Jen).

    I am still amazed at how much work you put into this community and how smooth everything is running on the technical side – so a big cheer for you, Jen.

    Glenn’s doing an awesome job of keeping an eye on things in the ‘Men’s Only’ .

    The blogosphere is approximately 51% male – but women are more active, engaging in conversations and socializing.

    Katherine: You are absolutely right, you can still do all your dropping and Adgitizing using the Tribal Bar toolbar. I have almost stopped using the EC toolbar completely, and need to because it isn’t compatible with the new Firefox upgrade.

    I love Tribal Blogs and I got some time to check it out a little more. You did a great work, Jen! I have a question about premium membership: is it possible to try it out for a month or two? I’m not sure I want to pay money (nothing against Tribal Blogs) for exposure, but I’m going to be really busy renovating a house this summer, and I don’t want to let my blogs fade away into oblivion.

    Also, for those of us with multiple blogs, is it possible to get several of them into the toolbar, rather than merely the primary one?

    Personally I think that with Tribal Blogs you have got the recipe just right. Not only do you offer members the chance to network with other like-minded bloggers but you also offer assistance for bloggers, be they beginners or old hands. Blogging is something that cannot be done in isolation, we all need others to help us achieve our goals. I do congratulate you on a great idea.
